This sketch was a direct response to the appearance of dead birds that began appearing in my neighborhood. I would find their small bodies on sidewalks and in the streets as I took my daily walks. Many of their bodies had been severely disfigured during their fall.

I took the general outline of a bird’s body and filled it in as I pleased. Ignoring anatomy and accuracy, removing the animal’s identity as a commentary on our apathy to the death of the creatures that exist within this environment with us.
